Understanding The Problem
Photo Safari & Observation
At the start of the projects, I mostly prefer to do photo safari and observe people in the context of my project. This help me to catch very natural moments. This project was held in Izmir/Turkey.
What did I observe?
- Babies or toddlers getting bored easily in strollers
- Parents use strollers to carry their shopping bags and etc. too
- Users struggle the obstacles on the road such as pavements and stairs
Mind Mapping
Observation step created bunch of words in my mind and I understood that both toddlers and persons who control the strollers were needed to be taken into consideration in this project.
Personas
Market Research
Some of the brands such as; Quinny, Bugaboo, Chicco and Maclaren were dominating the market in Turkey. I went baby stores, made internet search and talked with parents and even test one of the strollers to understand how can parents manage a stroller with a baby and lots of stuff. I saw that practicality and being easy maneuverable were important issues.
CONCEPTUALIZE
In the design stage of Carette from 3D modeling to 1:1 prototyping wasn’t easy. There were a lot of things to solve. So I made a weighted ranking list;

Caretta has two triple wheels at the back and big double swivel whell at the front to make descent and ascent to stairs/pavements smoothly.
Its’ wide open window on collapsible shade is for you to keep eye contact with your baby and also your little one isn’t bored in the stroller while having long walks together.
You don’t need to think anymore about how to clean the stroller after your food battle. Caretta has light and carbon fiber shell, just wipe it and it’s ready.
With 9 different bright colour options, wide support cushions and textile bedding, it holds your baby securely like in a womb or a shell.
